Information for Prospective Interns
Next available internship position opening: September 2016
Following four years of academic work at the undergraduate level, the Canadian Association for Music Therapy requires new music therapists to complete a 1000-hour internship under the supervision of an MTA (Music Therapist - Accredited).
Arpeggio Music Therapy values the importance of this step in the training process. As a certified internship supervisor, Elizabeth Eldridge welcomes applications from all fourth-year BMT students studying in Canada. Our internship positions involve contracted services primarily in Saint John, New Brunswick. Positions are highly flexible and can be tailored to meet the needs of the intern with regards to preferred client population, timeline, and specific areas to be targetted for academic, clinical, and professional growth.
Potential client populations with whom interns will have the opportunity to gain clinical experience include, but are not limited to:

Children and adults with special needs, including Autism Spectrum Disorder

At-risk youth

Adolescents and adults with mental illness

Geriatrics, including Alzheimer's/dementia and psychogeriatrics
